LEARN MORE ABOUT THE CREATION HEALTH LIFESTYLE AT FREE, UPCOMING SERIES
SAN MARCOS, TX – The Central Texas Medical Center (CTMC) Institute for Healthy Living will soon educate the community about the 8 wellness principles that have been proven to increase longevity and quality of life.
A free, 9-week-long CREATION Health series will kick off on Thursday, Aug. 29 and take place every consecutive Thursday, concluding on Oct. 24. The classes will run from 7 to 8 p.m. at the San Marcos Seventh-day Adventist Church, located at 1523 Ranch Road 12.
“It is our hope that by educating people about these 8 science-based wellness principles, that they will put the concepts into action and start living the balanced life that God intended for them,” says Chad Carlton, pastor of the Seventh-day Adventist church in San Marcos.
The first class in the series will provide an introduction to the CREATION Health lifestyle, and the remaining weeks will give an in-depth lesson about each of the guiding principles. The sessions are interactive, and audience participation is encouraged. Healthy refreshments will also be provided.
“We look forward to presenting this CREATION Health workshop to anyone who wants to live life to the fullest,” said CTMC Administrative Director of PR/Marketing Clay DeStefano. “Together, these 8 concepts have already helped people in many parts of the world to achieve whole person wellness and live to a healthy 100 and beyond.”
CREATION Health is a faith-based health and wellness lifestyle based on biblical principles. The proven results of this lifestyle on wellness and longevity are extraordinary. Adventist Health System (AHS), the parent company of Central Texas Medical Center (CTMC), developed the CREATION Health guidelines for its employee and community wellness initiatives.
The CREATION Health acronym stands for:
Choice is the first step toward improved health because people who believe they are in control over their own lives are healthier and live longer.
Rest is good sleep and also taking time to relax. Relaxation lowers blood pressure and reduces stress.
Environment is our external world but also affects what happens within us for the better or worst.
Activity includes physical and mental conditioning. Our goal is to be active in mind, body and spirit.
Trust in God speaks to the relationship between spirituality and healing. A link exists between faith and wellness.
Interpersonal relationships strengthen our wellbeing. Social connection fortifies our resolve and improves our health.
Outlook creates our reality. Our mind influences our body and our attitude impacts our health.
Nutrition is the fuel that drives the whole system. Small improvements and strategic substitutions produce profound results.
